Ethan started at Nustream in October 2021 and has become a truly valued member of the team. We thought that it would be great time to catch up with Ethan again to find out how it feels to be Apprentice of the Year 2022 and what he can share about the first 6 months of his Apprenticeship.
Looking at your early months, can you share the biggest learning area?
Looking back, working in an office for the first time every day, has been a big change. I have learnt more about how to interact with colleagues, improved my communication skills, working team – general work etiquette. From a school environment/ college, it does take a while to transition to the new hours and schedule. But, I have been surprised with how quickly I’ve fitted into the Nustream Sales Team. It is the first time that I’ve worked in an office, and it has been great to watch and learn about how to deal with colleagues, improving my communication skills and working as part of a team.
What is the structure learning programme like?
I am given assignments from Newbury College that I complete, but I can use time in my working week to complete these. Alongside this, I also have completed Xerox Sales Courses, Project Management and Product Knowledge sessions. The Nustream team have regular training with Industry experts to brief us on new topics and market trends.
Over the next months, numerous individuals will review Apprenticeships as an option for their next steps, what would your advice be?
I would suggest following the apprenticeship route if you are ready to learn whilst working. Everyone is different, but for me, I was ready to get into the workplace and it has been the right decision. I was awarded Apprentice of the Year 2022 and I am enjoying learning and developing at Nustream.
